A live study group app for you and your friends
Make a pod, share a code, and see who is studying right now. Free, no cameras, works in any browser.
Studova is a free app for running a live study group online. You make a group called a pod, your friends join with an invite code, and everyone's study timer shows live: who is studying, on what subject, and how long they have gone today.
There are no video calls. Each person studies on their own and the pod shows who is working. That is often enough to help you start and stay on task.
How to start a live study group
Sign up, make a pod and share its invite code or QR card. Friends sign up for free and join with the code. Agree on a time, start your timers, and open the pod to see each other.
A pod holds up to 100 people, so it works for two friends or a whole class.
What the group sees
Each member shows as studying, on a break or done for the day, with their subject. Today's study time is ranked on a daily leaderboard. You can send a nudge to a friend who has not started, and talk in the pod chat with @mentions.
Your session list and journal stay private. Pod members see your name, your status, your subject and your total for today.
Tips to make a group last
Pick one or two fixed times a week when the group studies together. A habit is easier to keep than a plan to meet whenever.
Use the planner to set those times. Studova reminds you if a block starts and you have not begun, and a streak grows on days you finish two daily quests.
Do I need to find a group?
If you do not have friends to study with, Find a pod lists open pods that anyone can join, including pods for big exams such as JEE and NEET. You can also ask a classmate to make one with you.
Common questions
What is a live study group app?
It is an app where a group of people study at the same time and can see each other's timers. In Studova you make a pod, friends join with a code, and everyone's live timer and subject show in the pod.
Is the Studova study group free?
Yes. Pods, live timers, the daily leaderboard, chat and nudges are free, and no card is needed to sign up.
Do we need to use cameras or video calls?
No. Studova has no cameras and no video calls. You see live timers and subjects, and you can chat in text.
How many people can join one pod?
A pod holds up to 100 people, and you can be in up to 20 pods at once.
Can I join a live study group if I do not know anyone?
Yes. Open Find a pod to join an open pod, or ask the leader of a pod that lets people ask to join. Pods are private unless the leader lists them there.
Does it work on a phone and a laptop?
Yes. Friends can join the same pod from a laptop, an Android app or Safari on an iPhone, and the live timers show up together.
